Message: I was here from 2020 to early 21. Cottage 8. All I can say is the only kids that truly had issues with this place were ones that were acting up or getting in fights constantly.. I was kicked out for refusing to do the program and for acting out, I was being a dumb teenager. But looking back this was one of best facilities I was in. They really do care about their kids besides the select few staff. If you do your program and you are a decent human being you’ll have no issues here, and even though this is for treatment, it can be enjoyable at times.. While there, I learned some positive life skills that stick with me to this day, I became certified in CPR and first aide, I learned how to cook a lot of amazing meals, I learned how to craft things out of wood, and learned various coping skills with meditation, yoga, deep breathing, ect.. the therapist I had, Ms. Megan, was by far the most amazing therapist I’ve ever had, and as someone who was in inpatient treatment for two years, and outpatient for five, I do not say that lightly.. The staff were kind, but kept it real, they do not sugarcoat, which I feel helped 10x more. They decorated our whole building beautifully for Halloween and Christmas, and I mean it was amazing. Never in my life had I seen a living place decorated like that! The only reason somebody would not thrive here would be from getting to caught up in social situations, and/or drama. Which staff are quick to put an end to.. The kids I was with in there also made impacts in my life. My roomate for my first apartment was a resident I lived with at the YOC. 10/10 recommend this facility over any other Indiana one!

Message: I was there for a year and a half and it sucked. However, the YOC did give me the tools I needed to grow into a responsible adult. Don't listen to the bad reviews. They are out of spite. This place helps if you are willing to let it help.

Message: I was actually just lookin up this place to get a phone number to call them and thank them for everything they did to help me when I wasnt ready to help myself. I saw some reviews down below and they only described them as bad. I have to this: My brother was here for 6 months, and a while later I was there for four months. We both failed the program. Not because of staff, but because we didn't want help. My brother is in Plainfield Prision for arson. Me I got out last month. The difference is I learned and wanted to make a change I had to learn to be the bigger brother and not follow my brother which I really wanted to do. The YOC staff helped me even though I didnt pass the program no, but the staff cared about everyone like their own children. Counsoler Carrie Bradley, All Cottage staff especially 8B, TASC staff, Utility Mr. Derrick, Jory, Jeremy, Spence, and Mr. Jason (a. k. a. Big Country) shall I continue? But, what Im sayin they will give thier A game to every kid. And if there lookin at this or anybody else I have my GED, a job, my drivers permit and car in my name when I get my license, a medicine that helps me be the person I am now. Im happy about me and I know I couldnt be the person I am without the YOC staff and other people who support me and have my back. I got your back on this review. Thank you YOC,. -Josh R.
